John Castellano of Pittsburgh founded a construction company, Go Green Construction (GGC) in 2009 with his wife. The couple had decades of property management, construction, and design experience between them and wanted to start their own company with their expertise and teamwork. John and Jennifer married in 2003 and added two kids to their family 2003 and 2004. John also brought his son from a previous marriage to the household. By 2009, with three kids, John and Jennifer decided to create their own company that would be committed to the improvement of the environment. Hearing about the dire state of the world’s climate changing as a result of rising temperatures from greenhouse gasses and other factors made them want to pitch in to help the earth any way they could. Since their experience was in property management and construction, they decided to create positive environmental change from that perspective.
Go Green Construction, under the leadership of John Castellano of Pittsburgh, provides many services to companies that need to construct new facilities or remodel existing ones that are energy efficient. One way that GGC helps companies save money on energy costs and shrink their ecological footprint is with energy audits. One of the most debilitating expenses that a company can have is high operating costs. Energy to heat and cool buildings contributes greatly to those operating costs at times. Ensuring that as little energy is wasted as possible is the key to limiting operating costs and limiting negative environmental impact. GGC has energy efficiency officers on staff who can conduct professional inspections and audits to limit energy usage as much as possible.
